Here we can set the logics for certain conditions. Although nothing needs to be programmed for the configuration because this is all generated from the graph, it might be necessary to set some business rules. All rules and conditions can be set up in this system.
To create a new rule, click Add rule, now you can enter a name for the rule. Click Confirm and the new rule is created. You can add multiple rules. Open the rule to define. The rule system works according a flow chart.
At edit you always start with a broadcast, which is used for changes. Then at Checks, a check is done on the Broadcast, at Actions the action can be established.
Creating a rule
To create a new rule, go to Broadcast and select one of the options (Option, Question, Step, Material group, Input, UI Click, Scene Init, Scene Built). We will use Option in our example, so we select Option in the menu.
A tile saying Option changed is now inserted in the flowchart. For this adjustment a check needs to be done. It’s very important to combine the right Check with the Broadcast. The Broadcast Option can not be used with the Check Question. For this Broadcast you can only use the Checks Options or Active options. This also applies to the other Broadcasts and Checks, these have to have the same subject.
At Checks we now select Check Options. A tile saying Check options is now added as well.
We now connect these by clicking the tile for Option changed and dragging it to the tile Check options and clicking it.
To see and adjust the properties for Check options, click the tile. Afterwards click Add check.
By selecting the type at Condition (in our example type => type 2) you can create a message or effect when a customer selects this type
Now you can link an Action with this choice. So when a customer selects Type 2 it will have a consequence. You can do this by selecting the right one in Actions. There are multiple options. In our example we will show you how to add an Alert (message). Go to Actions, Messages and select Alert. Now a tile saying Show alert is added. Now you can connect the Yes (Yes, type 2 is chosen) or No (No, type 2 isn’t chosen) in the Check options tile with Initiate in the Show alert tile. By clicking the Show alert tile you get to see the properties. Ar Value you enter the message you want to send.
The outcome of doing this is, when a customer selects type 2, the message will immediately be displayed. After saving the changes you made (click Save changes), you can view or check this in the Preview.
By using the Rules you can also change, for example, the view, by changing the placement of the camera. This way you can change the perspective when a different type gets selected. If you’ve already set this camera view you can use this straight away, if not you can go back to Showcase to add a different camera view.
Create a new rule and name this. At Broadcast select Option and at Checks select Options, now connect the two tiles and open Check options. At Options choose the correct type (in our example type = type 2). Go to Actions, select and choose Camera. Now a tile saying Select camera is added. Connect Yes (Check options tile) with Initiate (Select camera tile).
Open the tile Select camera and select the camera you want to use at Camera list (in our example we use Camera – Top) and click Save changes. Go to Preview to see if the changes you made are correct and how customers get to see this.
