Situation

Dress up your bottle Flowerbomb is an explosive floral bouquet. Unexpected. The essence of thousands of flowers gives rise to an ultra-feminine, delicious and sensual fragrance. A bouquet of tens of cattleyas, hundreds of sambac jasmine, thousands of freesia, and millions of rose petals enriched by an addictive scent of patchouli and vanilla. To give the bottle of perfume an extra unique and exclusive look it's possible to dress it up!

L'Oréal was keen to give their cross-selling an extra boost and get more engagement. They gave customers of their Viktor & Rolf online boutique the possibility to customize a bottle of perfume.

Design & Develop

For designers Viktor and Rolf, “fashion” has always been more than clothes only. Fashion is about creating an aura and a fragrance is an integral part of that endeavor. And for them, creations have to be made of love and precision, as it can be seen in their fashion shows. 

To energize L’Oreal online boutique an extra WOW factor, we've realized a unique 3D configurator.

Expivi x L'Oréal

Phase 1 

Launching the project, we started with hard samples of the fragrances, including elegant perfume bottles in many unique, luxurious shapes. 

As we started with hard samples and no 3D models, we started from scratch. We built 3D digital files of all the bottles and accessories. Over time, Expivi has been adding new and exciting configuation options to more personalize the sizes, shapes and even materials.

Phase 2
Dress up your bottle 

In the spirit of building new, unexpected design, the L’Oreal has been exciting and rare. Creating beautiful glass bottles, including a touch of liquid inside, has been a unique challenge, but one Expivi grabbed with enthusiasm. 


To create such a fresh new product required exception communication. L’Oreal provided resources and time to work closely wit hus and provide quality feedback and direction. Every 3D model and every functionality is made with great attention. L'Oréal analyzed, checked and approved every single detail.

The result

We are very proud of the end result. Thanks to different methods and tricks we visualized the bottles in a beautiful way, creating an aura of elegance. Hopefully, we collaborate more often with L'Oreal in the future!

From now on everybody can make a personalized frequency from Viktor&Rolf. Completely designed as they want: a pink or a golden sparkled bottle? No problem! Do you like accessories? Choose a lovely ribbon bow, tulle collar or a satin flower! There are so many possibilities and all visible in 3D!
